I've got a full back up of my Tomtom but I was wondering whether any one could tell me the file name for the 'Favourites' and 'Recent destination' files?
It would be useful to be able to restore custom lists when needed.
Thanks for any help.

Its the MapSettings.cfg file which you will find in the Western_Europe map folder - I think thats the name of your map folder on that device, if not it will be something similar but the actual file name is MapSettings.cfg - Mike |

For completeness, if others read this...
Copying the MapSettings file MAY work if you try to use an old one, but recent software versions often use a slightly different file format so it sometimes WON'T work.
Either it will just be ignored or in the worst case it even causes the TT to go into a loop of constant re-booting when you try to switch it on. If that happens, you'll just have to remove the old file again.
If you want to keep your old Favourites, Home location and recent destinations, a much better method is to convert them all to a custom POI file, which you can copy from one map to another easily.
Instructions on how to do that are in the FAQs HERE - see number 15. |
