Used my Nuvi 265WT to go to Sandwich, Kent yesterday. Fine going, tried to turn it back on for return trip only to find the device completely dead, unable now even to connect to my computer. Have contacted Garmin and Halfords and are only to willing to exchange unit. However I have some concerns for a unit only released in the UK in November on searching the Web quickly I have found a number of reports of failed or failing 265WT's. Has anybody else experienced problems with this unit, if it's unreliable unlike my etrex legend cx, replacing for the same unit seems stupid. |

I did have a simular eperiance two weeks ago but some how managed to get it working again, thought it was me not being to sure of the unit, only had it from late December, from Halfords. |

Upon returning the device to Halfords, the manager played around with the unit for a few minutes and likewise got it working. All he would say was that the device has a reset, but would not divulge its whereabouts. The Unit has been stable since and I have not had a chance to try anything, such as pressing the bottom right hand corner of the screen, while turning the device on. BUt I'm sure it will happen again, just a matter of time. Maybe somebody else will help identify the reset in the meantime. |

That's how to do the reset.
Might be worth making sure the unit is up to date with WebUpdater. |

This might be nice if one knows the correct version to download and then it's on an AS IS basis no warrenty. Is this another way of try our BETA ??
Thanks for the rest info though! What other secrets do these units have? |
