|
Got my 940 recently but on connecting to TT Home it says my maps are 1.5 years old, but looks like only way of updating is to pay for the up to date maps ? I'd have thought this should be free for the first time you plug into TT Home ?
Thanks

I thought all new TT's came with Latest map guarantee for the first 30 days, if so did you go into "Tools" on TT Home and select it to update. _________________ (GO 730)(One v2 New ED) and still no wiser |

That sounds like another software bug - your hardware wasn't even thought of a year and half ago!
Lets see what you have got installed on the device, tap the sat strength meter lower right corner of the screen, now tap the box marked version and the resultant screen will contain information about the software version (Navcore) and your map version number will be a couple of lines further down.
What is the Navcore/ software version and map numbers installed on your unit? - Mike |

Ooops I misread the statement on home it says is my maps are older than one quarter. I have v810.1934, is that the latest ? I don't have a tools section in home (running home on a mac).
Thanks

Yep, 8.15 came out on November 11th, I believe. That would make the message correct. _________________ David |

Your map is out of date, accross the top left of the Home Application should be "File", "Tyre", "Device", "Tools", "Help"
Click "Tools" and you will find the LMG option, to be honest I would consider waiting a few days as you can only use this once - you have to use it within 30 days of purchase, but if a new map was released next week..... - how long have you had the device? - Mike |

Thanks found the LMG. I've had the device exactly one week, is a new map release imminent then ?
Thanks Steve |

You can only use your latest map guarantee (LMG) once for each map installed on the device. New maps are expected in the next few days so if you download the latest maps today they will be version 8.15 and you will not be able to download the newer maps free under the LMG when they are released. However if you wait until the last day (30) of the LMG then have problems, it will be difficult to sort out with TomTom.
The date for the new maps is not definite, but TomTom normally release on a quarterly basis. _________________ Drivelux |
