Garmin Quest I - windscreen mount.

Hi everyone, newbie here .

I've got a Quest I I use for work, it has the original windscreen mount, the big one that sticks out a mile and wobbles.

I've removed the centre turntable section to reduce the length and that is now fine, but it would appear there isn't a lot of spring in the suction cup, this is why it kind of sags a bit. Is there a way to remove just the suction cup and perhaps stretch the spring slightly?
