Firstly I have moved this thread to the Route 66 forum section as its more applicable to the problem.
Does your device still work OK? - if so I would leave it well alone, the only reason to update the application would be to use updated maps which I am not too sure are available.
If the update were to take you from Route 66 version 7 to version 8 then you wouldn't be very happy at all as this application is as good as useless IMHO - Mike |

thanks for the reply the sat nav is one of my fav's it always seem to get you there i have a little garmin 330i street pilot screen to small plus a pioneer avic-s1 good but no speed camera alerts this has some camera alerts but i can not use the updater which was already loaded on the card sometimes it says not attached cannot be found when there it is connected via usb cable it always used to work when it was in mass storage mode as opposed to active sync i have recently changed to a laptop with vista ultimate and wonder if it is compatible with the sat nav sometimes when it stops part way through it says app crash stopped working very frustrating i think the mapping is navteq if thats any help thanks mike |

What exactly are you trying to update? if its the speed cameras then you should be able to do this via the USB cable and Windows Mobile Device Manager on your Vista PC.
If you are trying to update anything else on the device I would have to ask why? - Mike |

You should find the application in Start/ Programs/ Windows Mobile Device Manager (the icon is a green round ball) - This replaces the old Active Sync so you should be able to see the contents of the device using this - Mike |
