I've currently got an iPaq hx2410, mounted using the vent mount included in this kit.

I can remove the cradle from the vent clip, which is quick & easy and saves fiddling around removing the clip.

Unfortunatly it doesn't look like they do the same kit for an iPaq 114 which I'm looking at upgrading to.

I've looked at the Brodit website but 1) they don't do a suitable proclip for my car 2) or a vent clip and 3) it looks like the mount screws to the bracket meaning it can't be removed easily.

Can anyone suggest any alternatives? I believe the attachment system used in the kit I've got already is called 'Richter'?

TiA.

Hi,

Sorry I can't help with your original problem but beware that there is another potential issue with the HP114 and similar HP models.

These devices use a "standard" mini-USB power/data connector but for some reason they only charge properly if the data pins are also connected. Therefore, many normal car/mains power adapter cables don't work with these PDAs. So, unless you're handy with a soldering iron, make sure that you get a power cable/adapter which is specified to work with these particular devices.

Cheers, Alan.

The 4-prong mount is Herbert Richter's. They design and manufacture many of the suction mounts and cradles available today.

Brodit do Herbert Richter adapters in Male and Female versions. If you get the female version this comes with 3M adhesive tape, mount that directly to your new cradle and you should be good to go.

It's Part #202001 and is available in the UK from DSL Developments.
