Do you have to have a special SDMMC to down load the maps V5 from PC to a SDMMC. As spending hours trying, I seem to get them on a card but will not operate on the RA7000. I am a complete fool where computers are concerned iI must add.

Welcome to the forum Bob, I have moved your thread to a different area on the site where it will (hopefully) attract an answer from a user of the hardware you have bought, there are a number of threads within this MM section devoted to the RA7000 unit - Mike

Hi Bob,

AFAIK you don't need a special SD/MM card. Do you get any error messages?

However, MM on portable devices can only open map files up to about 400 MBytes. The v5 regional maps are typically 600 MBytes, so need to be "cut" in the PC application using : Mobile Device : Send Visible map.... or by creating a closed boundary route and right-click on the route : Operations : Send enclosed map... Note that it's much quicker to send the files to a card reader than using Active Sync.

Cheers, Alan.

The other thing to look out for is size of card. The RA 7000 will only accept standard SD cards up to 2GB (not SDHC cards).

but buy a simple Transcend 4Gb sd card . not SDHC.
ref. is :TGSDCS .
this model is not very fast , but don't care for a gps
A 66x or 133x model seem do not work ...
