does it need to be called 'speedcam.txt' or will it work left as it is?

i was under the impression it would work as-is.

Hi,
Iusw
I tried naming the csv file but it didnt work. it throws up a message stating that speed cam data not found. Do you need to rename both the files?
How can two files have the same name.

Thanks
Nilesh

Nilesh

Not telling you how to suck eggs, but have you renamed it speedcam.txt but accidently left the file as a .CSV type so your file is called speedcam.txt.csv?

Please show me the sucking eggs thing. How do I change the file type from .csv to .txt?

Cheers.

in windows, open up a folder (window) then at the top click 'Tools' then 'Folder Options...'

click the 'View' tab. about the 10th option down make sure that there is no tick next to 'Hide extensions for known file types'.

you should then see the '.csv' at the end of the filename. simply change this part to '.txt' by right-clicking and selecting 'rename'

if it NEEDS to be called speedcam.txt then i can make it so it downloads as that but i'm still waiting for confirmation!

Excellent! Thanks very much. I was nearly going to buy a satnav cos I thought the N95 wasn't functional enough for the job. But with all the new updates and this speedcam program its certainly looking like its up to the job.

Ok now I have the speedcam working but when I switch from speedcam to maps and visversa it cancels the other one out. I re-loaded appswitch but it's still doing it.

Please help,

Phil.

**Update**

I've tried leaving the backlight on and switching the phone off and starting from the beginning with the 2 programs. Its behaving better now but If do anything on the phone the speedcam can cancel itself off.

files should now download as .txt files. you will still need to rename to 'speedcam' though

I have a Nokia E71 and have downloaded Speedcam, the camera data file and python and loaded all. The Speedcam loads up and can switch with Nokia Maps by double clicking green (answer) button, but I cannot get the speedcam to overlay with maps. Unfortunately none of the buttons stated to operate the programme work with the E71. For instance clicking C doesnt work and when I press backspace it zooms the map in and out. I therefore assume the programme does not work as yet with the Nokia E71. Anyone else have the same problem?

I have Nokia Maps 2.0 with speedcam, but have the same problem with it not swapping between the two. The speedcam overlay works in Maps, but it hides all the useful information about distance, speed and time to destination. If I put speedcam in the background, no alert sounds and there is no pop up overlay. Any suggestions?

Does speedcam.txt have to be on the phone or card?

If Maps is not running and SpeedCam is in the background will there be audio warnings for cameras (and will they also be output through the audio out jack)?
