|
|
Help. I am still in my 30 day trial of Cyclops on a Nuvi 250. I noticed recently that a local red light camera was passed without a warning. I did several simulated drive bys on red light cameras identified on the map on the submissions page, still no joy. The nuvi 250 warns me of all other speed cameras. Do I have a fault? I have read exhaustively around this subject but I cannot find anything. I have also emailed Garmin but as yet no reply. I think the 30 day trial is steering me towards this site's database. I am wondering if Garmin don't include red light cameras until you cough up some cash. Any ideas?

bit of a mixed one here,
cyclops say:
"Additionally, for your reviewers information, we do not include in our database cameras that are solely red light activated - the ethics of alerting to red light cameras on the basis that they are only to catch drivers dangerously running red lights – not inadvertently speeding – is questionable."
where as, garmin say:
"The Cyclops Safety camera data includes all fixed, mobile (roadside or bridge locations) and temporary camera sites, as well as variable speed limit and red light speed cameras."
so, there you have it, clear as mud! pocketgpsworld has them and the database is £10.95 cheaper as well as allowing you to download the dat for multiple devices inteh same house and for any country at no extra cost...

I tried the Garmin safety cameras. Found that running them side by side with PGPSW on several trips that many types of camera are lacking in the Garmin database.
Have stopped using Garmin even though my sub has not run out |

Thanks to both respondents. I now know what to do, and it involves the sum of £19. I can put up with the fact that Pocket GPS does not differentiate on heading on Nuvis. I would rather be aware than miss one. When my 30 days expire and my holiday is over, I shall Join this site. I have had two replies from here and none so far from Garmin.
Thanks Again
