Just tested them on a TomTom ONE running v8 and they're both working?

Just a thought but no one has asked this yet, How many files ending with the extension of .ov2 have you got in the map folder on the device that won't see the POI files? - there is a limit and once exceeded the device will decide which ones it wants to offer you - Mike

Now THAT'S lateral thinking Mike! Very Happy Maybe we can't see the (simple) wood for the trees.

The nature of the query does seem to be changing.... Originally, it seemed that dmac's menus to manage or enable the POIs were missing, rather than the POIs themselves.

Just to confirm, dmac...
The "Show POI on map" menu should show a long list of ALL the POI categories installed, that's TT's own built-in ones AND any you've created yourself on the machine OR added by pasting ov2 and bmp files.

Test that works by making a test POI category (using change preferences/manage POIs/Add POI category) followed by adding a POI into that category (by change preferences/manage POIs/Add POI/select the "test" category/from map)
Your new category should now appear in the "show POI on map" list.

If that works then it must be either the simple "too many ov2 files as Mike suggests above, or the more tricky, "changed behaviour" that unfortunately Darren's test hasn't yet thrown any light on.

Ah OK our posts crossed, so it's probably not the simple solution, but it might be worth checking the contents of the map folder anyway (with Windows Explorer just to double check there aren't any odd ov2s from elsewhere (like the TT-supplied speed cameras) adding to the expected total.

Try my "test category" test.

Thanks just sent same files to TT support.

Thought, 720 runs W.E maps, recent upgrade via map guarantee offered UK maps which I downloaded.
However convinced I copied files in maps folder which must have been the case as I got work collegue to repeat process with his file.

Its got to be something simple...........

Oh come on, you experts never offer the option of choice with 720... Laughing

Could also explain why some of my mapshare data did not show after upgrading maps.

Anyway thanks again

Er I did, as this was my first suspicion, hence why I said (no really):

I just never realised that would not be enough for the poster to know where they should go, as not knowing his map etc, I couldn't actually NAME it for him.

No seriously - so this is not to show off - but just like Darren says, to add to the ALL ROUND light-heartedness of this post.

Most important thing is that it is fixed for him.

But next time I'll be sure to be more explicit, EVEN IF IT DOES MEAN MY POSTS ARE THE USUAL LONG LENGTH.

Sometimes, having to include the smallest of details, seems to be necessary, like I keep trying to tell you all, each time I write War and Peace.

That's MY excuse anyway.

Wink

HONEST, but just as funny proper answer...?

"I don't know because the book's too long, so never got that far..."

Go on, see the sarcastic self irony of me, in that true response...
