Hi there!

I am having a lot of difficulty and i hope someone experienced or intelligent (or both) can kindly help me sort this out :P

I am using an O2 XDA II Pocket PC running Windows Mobile Phone Edition 2003.

I have the new Tomtom Navigator 3 software installed on my SD Card and running fine!

However, i was delighted to come across this website which listed many POIs which i would love to have on my PPC such as all the cinemas etc.

I bought the PDA with the navigation software and it already contains some POIs i believe using a program or service called CheckPOInt 3.2 which was pre-installed for me.

I would like to be able to download all the new POIs to my PPC. I have tried to follow the instructions when i downloaded POI edit - but the version i have is substantially different to the one in the screen shots so i found it difficult to follow.

Many kind thanks to those who can help me solve this problem!

- Vishal

Hi Vishal,

First of all Welcome to the forum.

If you use CheckPOInt 3.2 you can synchronise POIs with a website called POIplace.

Personally, I prefer to use the POIs from the PocketGPS World website, which can be found here. I also prefer to use CheckPOInt 2.02 or GPSAssist.

I don’t use the PocketGPS World POI-Sync method, as I prefer to manually download the required POIs, and save them on a USB memory pen. This is because I use the PC at work and at home and I can’t get the POI-Sync method to work at work because of the firewall settings.

When you download the required POI. Un-zip it and copy both the .OV2 and .BMP files into the correct map folder on your PDA. Shutdown TTNav (if it is still running) and then restart it. You should have the POI available for use. Thumbs Up

Regards,
