You don't. As soon as we have verified a submission correctly and if it qualifies, the member who reported it will get upgraded. 'Chasing' us up will not make it happen any quicker.

At risk of repeating yet again the same answers, the monthly sub was scrapped because far too many seem to think stealing our hard work and effort was fair game. It's not and as always in life, a few bad apples spoilt it for everyone else.
If you use the database and rely on it then update your sub, if not, you'll have to have a little patience like everyone else
If your submission met the criteria and qualifies you WILL be awarded as soon as we have checked and verified the site. _________________ Darren Griffin |

are you 100% certain it is a redlight camera? i ask because there's not been any further submissions for there since yours in march. it's not like it's in an unpopulated area either...

Good Evening All.
When is free subscription given out? Reason I ask is I have submitted some missing locations which have been logged onto your google map.
I hope soon.

Free Lifetime Subscriptions are given out at the time of the next database release.
However, whether you receive a lifetime subscription will depend upon you being the FIRST to accurately report cameras and meeting the qualifying criteria.
Unfortunately, the assumption all too often is that just because somebody has submitted a camera they are automatically first to do so - although this is not always the case. _________________ Andy

Taken from our camera submission page: Quote: | Criteria for Free Lifetime Subscription*:
The first person to accurately report a new fixed site.
The first person to accurately report a change to an existing fixed site i.e. change of type, correction of location, move etc
The first person to accurately report a permanent removal of an existing fixed site.
The first person to report a speed correction or submission of speed data where none previously existed for a fixed site.
New reports of Mobile sites will also now qualify BUT because such sites are very difficult to verify, it should be noted that validation may take significantly longer than for other types of site.
Note that the Free Subscription will only be added after both verification (once it goes 'active' in the database) AND further reports have been received.
We verify all submissions and you will be notified if yours qualifies. If you are successful we'll let you know (there is no need to send us an email to check) and automatically extend your current membership. As before, you must be a current subscriber to benefit from this offer. |
I haven't checked your submissions but if they were for cameras in the UK as you are not a subscriber you are not eligible for Lifetime Subscription. If they were however for cameras outside of the UK you will be awarded if they qualify when they have been verified. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren, would this include heading data (either changing where wrong or adding where not previously provided)? From the text it suggests it possibly does but then all he changes listed are physical movements. |

If it was the addition of heading data where none previously existed or a correction to a significant error then yes, absolutely. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Cheers for the confirmation and I now have my fingers crossed....submitted some where there was none and also a correction from reversible to single direction on others. |

I'll have to eat humble pie here and apologise as I was wrong. We don't offer lifetime subs for heading data, only speed / location changes.
My apologies for suggesting otherwise _________________ Darren Griffin |

No problems and cheers for the clarification. I will go back to hoping one of my 'new' submissions is a first. |

Thanks for your help. |
Just pay another year, it is well worth it,and when you work out the cost, it is peanuts. I have just come back from Benidorm where 2 new ones were added on my journey from the airporto to the hotel. Cameras types that I have never seen before, so I would possibly have missed. That in itself would have been well more than the subscription.
By the way, can you put 'Lifetimer' under my name too?
Thanks,
Rob |
