Although they claim 'basic coverage' its actually quite detailed, here is a screen-shot of Saint Peter Port. I'm using v.8.05 but the data is functionally identical on v.7.20:

Sadly it looks like this hasn't changed?:

Thanks Darren, Quote: | Although they claim 'basic coverage' its actually quite detailed, : | It looks quite detailed to me. I checked out Jersey on version 715 & it looked good.
I suspect they're just covering themselves against complaints.
I'll probably buy it so I'll be able to check it out properly on the road. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Point of Interest. Google Maps shows the same layout, the copyright says 2008!

Well my GO720 is under 30 days old I've tried to use 'Latest Map Guarantee' in TomTom Home v2.3. Unfortunately it tells me I have the latest maps and no updates are available.
My unit shows map version 7.15. I've called TomTom support UK number and spoke and they are looking into it and going to email a response later.
If any other users have success with Latest Map Guarantee can you let me know.
Thanks,
Mark.
UPDATE 13:05
Just had a call from same person at TomTom support to ask for my device code and serial number so they "can assign the new map to the device". Very helpful lady. They are going to email me and I need to follow intructions and respond with copy of my receipt. _________________ iPhone 6 - TomTom WE- CamerAlert - Brodit Passive Adjustable mount.

If you use the latest version of Google Earth (version 2.3, "recently" released) it will show the date the photo was taken at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes it will just show the year, but it can give a specific date. |

And in at least one case the date supplied appears to be rubbish. My house is 6 years old and it doesn't appear on Google Earth despite it claiming the data is 2008. _________________ Darren Griffin |

And what is happening with us running TTN6 for Symbian S60R3.
There has never been an update for this software?
Does anyone know if there is going to be new maps for TTN6? _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

I am getting off with tomtom for not providing updated software for PDA users which we are still on version 6, yet tomtom 7 and 8 are out
I would happily purchase new maps but can't because the newer maps don't work with tomtom 6 |

Have they got the new one-way system in The Kingsway, Swansea yet? (Only two years old!)

Call me cynical, but maybe they havent got the version 8 maps ready for the non x30 units, therefore, releasing the equivilent version 8 map as version 7.20. I do expect them to release the version 8 map for all units eventually, but the navcore 8 software and v8 maps are basically the main selling point of the x30 series. I doubt they would release navcore 8 and v8 maps now, because at best, the x20 users would just buy the v8 maps, download the navcore 8 software and have an identicle x30 unit! PS I`ve tried navcore 8 and its not that much better unless you have the v8 maps which i didnt. _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE
