The 2009 maps came out today for download at the myGarmin site. I downloaded mine and just finished the installation. Went fine.
If these are the V9 aka 2008 maps, for what unit did you download them from myGarmin? I've never heard of the possibility to download maps from myGarmin yet. I'd love to do that, as this would eliminate the delay for sending out the update DVDs.
I've checked my own myGarmin account and saw a link myMaps - Map Downloads (since when is this available, a month ago this wasn't, I think), but there I get a message stating There are currently no map downloads available for this account., although I've purchased the 2008 maps recently.

Beatmix, you can get the maps by download only if you're eligible for a free update, is my understanding. Otherwise, DVD only. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr.

v9 are NOT the 2008 maps. v9 are v9, v10 are the 2008 maps.
myGarmin only offers my i3 the DVD - no download...
Correction - i see it now....
Sorry Paul, was not up to speed, of course v9 is not 2008, I should have known as my Quest 2 was delivered with v8, v9 was my free update and the 2008 I just recently purchased.

That's a pity, as one should think that the non-free update is the bigger market.
Anyway, lets see what happens next year, perhaps this changes. I can't see an update to download for my unit any way I go into my account. But as I've ordered back in February, that time the DVD ordering was the only way to go, perhaps that's why I don't see anything, as they don't offer DVD and download at the same time ?!?
