I unfortunately updated it, so i decided to try and do a restore and when i did it was still on the problematic 7.4 but it cured the "crossing problem" the new problem it created was the vr, it works fine but just won't let me say streets in my home city - every other city it works fine - how do you work that out??

Got another problem, is this 7.480 related, anyone experienced this ?? All the text on screen, road and place names, road numbers etc is being displayed in an 'outline font'. Size is correct but its just a black outline displayed over whatever is displayed on the screen. It's bloody annoying and makes it difficult to read, I'm presuming this is another problem (can't find anything related to this in preferences) I hope the release that upgrade soon!!

Sounds like a colour scheme or day/night settings issue.

Try a reset first, then try changing the map colour scheme and then back again. Then look to see what your switch to nigh settings are. Many colour schemes have black on white for the day colours and black on white for the night colours.

Hi All,
If this "upgrade" is causing so many problems then why is TT keeping on there server for everyone to mess up there units!

I tried it but have the same problems mentioned and i just restore my "windows" backup until they sort it.

If you connect using TTHome it still offers this version!

As a complete newbie to TT I cannot agree more. They now know it is a problem, why not just pull the plug on it.? I will ask them when I ring on Monday to get my maps properly upgraded. Don't suppose I will get much of an answer though.

I have had my Go 720 for just over a month and its worked ok, until I updated Home from version 2.2.1.26 to version 2.2.2.28 ever since I have not been able to use Operate my Go.
I am on a Mac with latest OSX, I have deleted , reinstalled, trashed and kicked the dog but still cannot operate my go from Home. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to put it right? Question

Believe it or not 7.480 has upgraded my 520 to a 720.

I only noticed this yesterday when I operate go in TTH the black box in the top right hand corner, that usually says things like "writing route instructions" or "RDS-TMC connected" was telling me TomTom GO720,

weely, Are you sure you have kicked the dog sufficiently? Some dog can be fairly tough. Shocked

That's "Home" for you... Laughing
For ages it insisted that you were on a different version of software than you really were, and they still haven't managed to make the menus match the real thing.

To be fair, the Go520 and 720 ARE the same hardware apart from the size of internal memory, but Home still should be able to tell the difference!

It's a 'known' issue and has been reported to TomTom. When it will be fixed is not known.

To be honest I rarely use the feature so haven't missed it. Don't see the point myself?

If you can run Windows software on your Mac have you considered or even seen "Tyre" it acts as a direct tanslation from Google Earth to the TomTom device without going anywhere near badly coded software - have a look Here - Mike

Sadly HOME has been a catalogue of disasters and failures since it began. It's one step forward and two back with each new release!
