No. The map is locked to your original device and could not be activated on the 520. And as you have replaced it with a 520 you will neither have enough room on the internal memory nor be licensed to do so. _________________ Darren Griffin |

A new map could go on an SD card though.
Also, as you can change map activation after six months, would it be worth a try? (Assuming Chris still has the product code card). |

Lucky you DIDN'T manage to swap ownership of the map with TT then.
You'd NEVER have managed to get them to put it back as it was again!! |

If he did swap ownership, of the original map, THEN the old TomTom was recovered, he would be running the same map on two devices, so whats stopping other people trying it, and trying to put maps on their friends/families sat navs? _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

In one word "Honesty" and the fact that any further upgrades would be messed up by doing this, you would be found out eventually - Mike |

I don't know what systems TomTom have in place but if he connects the old device to Home and it connects to TomTom, they would be aware he is violating the licence.
EDIT: added before seeing mikealder's post (why does this always happen when I don't preview first ). _________________ Gerry
