Garmin Mobile XT - A few questions

1) - Is there any way to change the average speed for certain types of road? The reason I ask is I find the ETA inaccurate and this should be easily solved if this option is available.

2) - Is there a way to change what is displayed in the bottom corners? I had Route 66 previously and it would display the ETA, Distance to next junction/turn & Distance to destination. The distance to destination was always good to know.
