Mitch or Jay....when you start up Satsync and click on About...which version does it say it is? _________________ I like mapping, I like mapping, I like mapping and I like to map!

Ignore that....after starting it about three times from the Start Menu it finally says 1.0.17 rather than 1.0.15 even though I had removed that prior to installing 1.0.17
I thought for a moment they would have to release 1.0.18 to correct the version number in About to 1.0.17 _________________ I like mapping, I like mapping, I like mapping and I like to map!

Just for info, here's a copy of a mail I sent to Satmap earlier today re: comms, it might help shed some light....
Hi Richard,
I know you're working hard on a number of things (i.e. sorting out gpx formats etc.), but judging by the forum discussion at Pocket GPS World that we've chatted about previously, it would be really useful for the Satmap community if someone could put out a short comms email to registered users with an update re: progress and realistic expected release dates for:
Satsync
Software rel 1.05
Web Planner
Full instruction manual
Plus whatever else you're working on, presumably you'll at least have it all done by the Outdoor Show in March!?
If so anyone know when; I feel that i might need to go
and have a mooch around with the added possibility of having
some time on the Satmap Stand IF they are there.
It's March 14-18....although if you ask Satmap they'll say it'll be the end of next week. _________________ I like mapping, I like mapping, I like mapping and I like to map!

My God they're actually charging people to look at an exhibition full of company advertising?! I wouldn’t go on principle, its disgusting and they ought to be ashamed of themselves.
What about the Video Forum, Earls Court - largest of its kind and its FREE
The Focus On Imaging NEC - Photographic Exhibition - largest of its kind and again ITS FREE
After a couple of times asking the folks at Satmap (and then a small problem with my e:mail stripping out the .msi file)...I eventually got my hands on the Beta version of Satsync this evening... it is version 1.0.20 (beta).
I've just spent the rest of the evening trying to move files to and from my SatMap and into my mapping software (Tracklogs). Even though Tracklogs is able to read and save .gpx files - files could not be recognised either way - a quick look (using Notepad) shows the formats and detail are comlpetely different. The problem being that Tracklogs saves as Tracks were as SatMap uses Routes....however all was not lost - at least the files uploaded from SatMap could be read into Google Earth for viewing!
I have a program called gpsbabel (from http://www.gpsbabel.org ) that as its name suggests translates between various GPS formats and as I found it can also translate Route/Tracks and back..... so...I am now able to plan a route on Tracklogs and get it onto SatMap....and also use SatMap to log a route and then load it onto Tracklogs!! Hurrah.
Now I'm just waiting for the improvements that will hopefully come with release 1.04 of the system software...oh and the rechargeable battery pack...than I'll be very happy..
