Yesterday evening i was in this area, where the roadworks have been ongoing for a year and are due for completion in summer 2008.
They have progressed to the point where now you are directed over the railway on the new road, albeit amongst scores of traffic cones.
The Red light cameras at the rail crossing and the Eastbound Gatso are obsolete as in the road is sectioned off (probably whilst they refurb this section). I am not going to make any official changes as the permanancy of this is unclear. I will keep an eye on it to see if the Gatso is resited on the new section. |

Yes,thats sorted Andy. The reason i held off on this is not wanting to jump the gun. It was only yesterday they opened the new section but in truth it's hard to be sure if it is going to be permanent at this time.
As far as the cameras are concerned they are negated as traffic cannot now go past them.
As mentioned earlier, i will keep a check on this. As things become clearer as to whether the routing is permanent or not then i will update the info. |

Ok friends, Today i had a good squizz at this location and believe me it's permanent. The Gatso has been removed totally and the level crossing red light cameras have been fenced off.
As the road now goes over the top of the railway, the original road is now no longer drivable as it is blocked off.
I reckon the funds raised from this one Gatso alone, would have paid for these roadworks!! |

True andy, the lane closure approaching Southerham roundabout from Laleham or Kingston roundabout as us yokels call it does not help the problem but Beddingham is running better.
All they need to do now is get the carriageway from Polegate up and over the roundabout, now that would help things drastically, especially people coming up from Newhaven/Seaford. |

Tis a shame they did not spend the few extra millions and build a four lane bridge over the railway and slip roads off to Newhaven doing away with the roundabout onto the A26.

Hummer you obviously use the area a bit. We've all said that for years, but what do we know - we only drive the roads everyday!!. |
