Just got the new wstern Europe maps on my Tom Tom Go 700. Think it is 7.
Done what i have always done. Dropped the latest pocket camaeras into the Map Files.
Tom Tom though isn't seeing them.
Don't understand why it isn't working,
must be the new maps as i copied over my old map.cfg file so i wouldn't loose my Favourites but its not seeing that either. |

Are you sure TomTom is using the new map? Go to Change Preferences ... Manage Maps to make sure you have switched to the new map, as you are likely to still have both old & new installed on the machine.
If you are already using the new map, have you installed the cameras into the new map folder? It is likely to be using a different folder to the previous map version. |

It changed in some versions. Have you now perhaps got two cfg files? MapSettings.cfg and mapsettings.cfg or some combination of these type filenames - upper and lower case letters etc.
But changing maps is favourite - the 700 has enough space for two maps and more. _________________ Dennis

Well first the new maps were too large for the hard disk (Go700 doesn't have external cards but a large fixed hard drive) Had to remove old Western Europe maps first.
New Map is about 1700 in size!!
Of course did all backups first as well as extracting own POI's and favourites as per Tom Tom instructions.
As i say loaded back in as per instructions but not seen.
New Maps are contained in 2 folders - Western Europe and Western Europe Maps. Tried all combinations including loading into both. nothing works.

Ok Guys panic over. Put it down to me being a silver surfer!!! Looks like when i removed the old maps it obviously left behind the old folders. These folders were grouped at the top in the programme. The new Western Europe folder was hidden at the bottom of the file, Stupidly didn't look that far down. Should have realised by the folder sizes.
Well, put it down to experience and move on eh.
Thanks for the advice much appreciated, |
