Same story here. Got the email asking for 50 euros last night.
Sent customer support a rather harsh mail back... Let's see what happens... |

I got my replacement near a week ago. after loads of emails to them,
They sent one to me via DHL from holland (i think)
Then yesterday i got another email saying they will send my replacement
after i pay 100 euro. Now I was confused, Then came another email
telling my my replacement has been send and gave me a tracking
number. Well it looks like I will get a 2nd unit tomorow morning.....
I must say, the new units work much better than old ones.
I now get sig 95%+ of the time.
With old unit I was lucky to get 10% coverage. Im well happy
And looks like will be double happy in the morning
Paul

IF you do get a second one don't try using them both in the car at the same time assuming you have more than one TomTom nav unit to connect them to. Two RDS units do not work well together due to interference, I spent two of three days trying to compare an older version with the new one only to find this out - Mike |

Jokers.Sent mine with receipt nearly 6 weeks ago,got the €50 email, sent a copy of the receipt again and yesterday got a mail asking for €100.
TomTom certainly won't be getting any cash out of me,do they think its an unpaid parking fine? |

I wouldn't stand for this nonsense, see this thread for further details.
You've been charged for an item which was faulty and now you're being charged for a replacement item - this isn't what the Sale of Goods Act says should happen...here
Check your position with Consumer Direct (formerly Trading Standards) and contact your credit card company to dispute a payment. _________________ Andy

Having ignored all the emails (and I won't be purchasing a TomTom in the forseeable future)
Today a 'replaced' unit arrived 'under warranty letter' V00.013 is on the label, is this another duff one I wonder? |

013 as the last three digits is the latest RDS device so it should work better than previous itterations of the device, that said reception can be problematic in parts of the country where are you located - Mike |
