Can anyone recommend a good large screen (min. 3.5") PDA/GPS unit that will accept the National Geographic TOPO software?

I have had great success with Garmin iQ3600 but it is not compatable with the N.G. TOPO software. It only allows downlaoding these maps into its limited internal memory. I need to access larger portions of the 1:24000 TOPO maps in the field.

Try a DELL AXIM X51v. Has very good screen (640*480) and I find it excellent for showing detail. Like all PDAs - it tends to have a limited battery life - but you can easily rig an extender pack up. You will also need to provide a rugged case as PDAs don't like being "bounced"
