|
|
Hi
I tried to use my I3 with its V9 maps to find LE1 1ST today, guess what it doesnt show up
I could navigate to the street in question so it wasnt a total loss.
The Royal Mail website shows it as a good post code, I know the place in question is fairly new, how long does it normally take for new postcodes to show up on the mapping?
Cheers

I would have thought the area would have been assigned a postcode long ago as it doesn't appear to be a new road.
However there are a few errors in these maps and databases. A road near me (Wales Avenue) is covered by two lots of postcodes so if you want to go to Wales Avenue you can use the right postcode or the postcode for another road half a mile away. You can navigate to the other road but not by post code.
Errors do exist but how long to fix and correct them is anyones guess. A fairly new estate in Epsom is fully mapped in my v8 maps but a new road nearby is mapped incorrectly. |

Lots of postcodes are not in, or are wrong. The postcode for the flats i live in does not work at all, and they were built about 30 years ago....... |

Ive been using Garmin maps since V5 (2003). There are some errors that I reported then that still exist in v9. There is an error report form at:
http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/errorForm.html
As it's now been 4 years my guess is that error are never corrected through this method, but by Navteq. |

Cheers for the information & links everybody
Ill report it to both Navteq & Garmin, maybe they will get round to fixing it in a few years time
I know where the road is now anyway so the lack of this Le1 1ST postcode in the V9 map on my I3 isnt really an issue now _________________ Garmin I3
