|
|
I have been using my gps for a while now. Recently my battery died, so i plugged it into the car charger and turned it on but it did not work. So when i came home i charged it and turned it on. The red light flashes really fast when turned on and thats it. When i charge it the green light comes on, i am not sure why the unit has started doing this.
Basically the unit doesnt turn on. I charged a nokia battery and then put it inside and it did the same exact thing. |

Do you get the same result when the GPSlim is not connected to the charge cable? Some charge cables are not correctly wired for the 236.
Charge it up with the device switched off
Unplug it and switch it on, the Blue LED should flash, the orange LED will be steady until you get a position fix, at which point it will flash.
If the device doesn't behave as above take the battery out for 40 to 72 hours before trying again (this action will deplete the other internal battery and reset the device) - Mike |

i tried charging it with the included charger and it charges for a bit then turns off, i tried this a few times i even connected to my usb cord on my pc and it did the same thing.
im not sure which position is on/off on the device
when i put it in the up position which the case lables as ON it doesnt do anything, when i put it down it flashes red for a 1/2 a sec. the case has a pic of the power logo for the bottom position. please let me know which is on/off.
thanks
edit: i just put it in the main wall charger and the green light came on for a 1/2 sec and then off doesnt appear to be charging at all |

With the device in front of the switch should be on the left side of the device the USB socket and LEDs will be at the end of the device facing you:
Pushing the switch away from you is the ON position.
Pulling the switch towards you is the off position.
If the green light is only flashing for a second or two it is indicative of the battery being fully charged. When the device is not plugged into a charger and switched on the Blue (center LED) should illuminate constantly for about 5 seconds before starting to flash, the Amber LED illuminates approx two seconds after switch on, this will illuminate constantly until the device has attained a position fix at which point it to will flash. - Mike |
