Not GPS related sorry, and a month or so old now, but i Just came across this on an ambulance forum, as there's lots of ex military bods in the service now and have served with Gurkha's, and us paramedics wanted to spread the word around.

Gurkha Tul Bahadur Pun has been refused entry to the uk 'because he has no strong ties with UK'. This 84 year old gent has the VC, I believe this demonstates unquestionablely he has the strongest posible ties to the uk.
He is frail health with diabetes and heart disease and without the medical care that Britain can give him, he may well die. We owe this man the best of the NHS If you agree please sign this petition
I think you will find that Gurkha TulBahadur Pun is staying and will get his visa, as the case is now being supported by Lord Ashcroft.
I feel that ALL the Gurkas should be allowed to stay in the UK, along with any other soldiers from other countries fighting for us in the forces.
Here we have men who put their life on a line for us and when finished with are told to go back home, when the government let every other "Tom Dick and Harry" in the back door with no checks.
As Tim said this country has gone mad.
The politicians and the government have lost the plot, as far as i'm concerned they don't speak for me, it makes you ashamed to be part of it. _________________ TomTom Go 60
