Setup for Globalsat BC-337

I am using a GlobalsatBC-337 with an HP Ipaq Pocket PC. When I insert the GPS receiver into the appropriate slot i get a message asking me to establish a new modem connection, including a number to dial. I assume this is not required for the GPS receiver so I dismiss the message box and proceed to setup. However, I cannot seem to receive any GPS signal. I've gone to the setup screen , tried a number of different ports from the pulldown list and set the required baud rate (4800). However, when I go to the GPSInfo screen, I get nothing. In the literature that comes with the GPS receiver, it indicates that I should select the "CF-CARD-GENERIC" COM port. However, this is not listed as one of the options on the pulldown list in the GPSInfo setup screen.

Can anyone let me know what I might be doing wrong?
