Out of interest - have you reloaded all your POIs and Favourites back onto the unit yet - there are some rumours that the delays are caused by having these types of items in the first place - so performing a hard reset would remove the problem by deleting them, not by actually fixing the problem... _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums.

I do apologise Swing - i hadn't realised you'd responded to my earlier post. As far as i could work out, the reset i performed didn't erase any of my POIs or Favourites, so i didn't have to load anything back on to the unit. Sorry if this confuses the issue.
I had the issue with the map lagging on my Nuvi 300 and after reading this thread the "hard reset" for this "uncommon" problem fixed it straight away, and I can confirm that my favourites and POI's were all untouched. That said, I keep my POI's on the SD card.
However, what did change was that all my preferences were reset. I previously had WAAS/EGNOS on, and the reset turned it off. I had to go back and disable the Garmin POI's in favour of the PGPSW POI's, and my car pointer had turned into that large, blue saloon that covers half the map in 2D mode, instead of my preferred sleek arrow.
Stupidy I noticed the various resets after I had set off this morning and decided to fix them en route - remind me not to do that again! Next time I'll do it on the drive - should only take about 30-45 seconds, so in the scheme of things, not a real issue for fixing the map-lag problem.
