Although i dont use the clock on my Nuvi that much, i just realised something very screwy is going on. It seems to keep going back to 1am all the time and the date is showing as Oct 29 2006 when it's actually Apr 27 2007! I've been all through the menus and the maintenance and pre-boot screens, but cant find anyway of resetting this. I would have thought that it would be auto setting from the GPS signal, but having just said that, i'm checking it indoors without the aerial up, hence no GPS signal! Shouldn't the Nuvi store the date/time from the last known good signal though? Would make sense as it's a device with many features designed to be used without use of the GPS. In fact i just tested this - power cycling the unit without the GPS aerial up resets the time to 1am again. Perhaps i just answered my own question! 8O |

On my 660 - the time certainly survives a switch off - just tried it - 5 hrs after it was last exposed to a satellite and it was correct.
Is the battery fully charged on your unit? _________________ Phil |

Yup - battery fully charged. Just tried switching it on again (been off since lunchtime when i originally posted) and it's gone back to 01:00 again. Strange. I'll see what it does on the way home when i let it lock on to GPS. |

Sounds suspicious.
The only way to set the time is for it to get a lock on satellites I believe - doesn't seem to be a manual way of changing it. (At least on my 660) What is your unit?
How old is the unit? If it is in it's warranty period I would get a call into GARMIN support to see if you can get it fixed/exchanged. _________________ Phil |

This is a Nuvi 360T that's only about a month old.
I'll have a play with it on the way home and see what happens. |

Just for the record, this problem seems to have sorted itself. For the past two days, it's held the correct time for several hours after being disconnected from external power.
I guess it just had a bad day! |
