Hi all I'm in the process of returning my quest 2 for the pile of **** that it is and before I plunge head long into Zumo ownership I want to be sure that Garmin have got right all the things that are wrong with the Quest 2.
Can anybody who has had problems with the Zumo tell me here or similarly if its fantastic and never goes wrong let me know.
Having spent 4 months playing with the Quest 2 thinking it was me as a novice GPS owner and now 2 months arguing about it to try and get my money back I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing in getting a Zumo.

All experiences gratefully received.

Hi Des,

I have been through the same process with the Quest 2 and replaced it with a Zumo. It is not as useful or configurable for off road use as the Quest but the features and speed of calculation are excellent. You can not turn off auto-recalculation, in order to carefully follow a prepared route, but this may be altered in a later firmware release. The Zumo has been in daily use (work and Geocaching) loaded with MP3s, pictures, speed cameras, hundreds of extra custom POIs and never crashed/paused once in 2 months. Its fantastic and never goes wrong.

Hi

I dont like the software as much as Tom Tom but the unit has been faultless - with no issues. I had one problem when I first got it and managed to jam it up (user error) but help line was fantastic

The map software is great for pre planning and Im really pleased with it. It took a while to use my own POI's as i have used TomTom stuff for a few years no and got used to it but overall its great.

The Zumo unit itsself is just great

Does anyone use the traffic widget thingy with their zumo?

I find the traffic reports and re-routing really useful (at times) with the rider but looking at the zumo the extra thing not only cost another 70 but comes with an antenna wire that you have to sucker into position (ok for car windscreens but where does it go on a bike?)

Has anyone used one successfully and how accurate are the traffic reports?
