I am not subscribed to any speed camera database at the moment. Would users recommend the PGPSW or Garmin databases? |

I would personally recommend the PGPSW database - it's cheaper, updated more often, and covers a greater variety of sites (some types of camera sites are not included at all in the Garmin database).
However, the Garmin database includes directional data, so the cameras don't alert if you are heading the opposite way.
You can get a 3 month free trial subscription to the Garmin database, but I've never activated my free trial, preferring to stick with PGPSW.
Disclaimer: I have a lifetime subscription to PGPSW. |

Go for the database on this website.
If you even just pay the £2 for a months subscribtion you get the full database of all the speed cameras.
And if you are really feeling rich, sign up for a year for £19 where you get to update your databse whenever an update is available!
This site is so good, it is even in a link on the Garmin website! |

Is the Garmin speedcamera database (available on MyGarmin) compatible with the Streetpilot 2820? Whenever I try to connect, it says "no device connected" even though it is connected and I can see the files on my Garmin using Windows explorer.
Is there a step I am missing?

The Garmin website only lists the following models as compatible with the Garmin speed camera database:
StreetPilot c510, c530, c550
nüvi 300, 310, 350, 360, 610, 660
zūmo 550
However, you can use the PGPSW database on your unit... |

Thank you for your answer.
Does the database you refer to contain speed cameras for Europe or only UK? |

The PGPSW database does have some European cameras, but there are a couple of other sites which can provide European cameras - best to search these forums and you'll find out the details (and discussions on their legality in various countries). |
