I recently bought CP4 (build 4.0.4.107) and installed it with the computer generated TTS voice. I decided to try the pre-recorded wave file and first tried the method in FAQ on the ALK web site. After that the navigation worked, but no voice. I thought it might be the CF card, so I reloaded that from the PC, specifying the wav file - still nothing. I looked on the CF card and, although I had specified the wav file prior to the download, the software had installed a tts.cab file. So I deleted that and dragged the appropriate .wav file from the PC - still no sound.
I then decided to follow the instructions in the manual and do a complete Uninstall/Install, specifying .wav files when installing to the Pocket PC and downloading to the CF card. But still no sound. In desperation I did another Uninstall/Install, this time specifying tts speech - and it worked again. For some reason, there is no way that my setup will work with pre-recorded sound.
I don't find the zoom when slowing down anything like as good as TomTom. Also, as mentioned in an earlier post, I keep getting most of the screen flooded in blue, making it look like I'm driving along a causeway. Not very impressed so far - if their maps were more accurate I think TomTom would win hands down

I forgot to mention - if I deviate slightly from the route directions, CP4 seems slow to realise - it continues giving instructions as if I were on the correct route. TomTom is much quicker at realising that it needs to recalculate
