using grid reference to find railway access gates

i have ordered a fujitsu loox n500 with navigon5 and i am looking to get os maps to find the access gates to the railway.The area i cover is scotland and the nw england around carlisle and the lake district.Usually the access gates are in the middle of the countryside but we are given grid references of the access location.So being a newbie i am looking for some info regarding memory maps as to whether they will be able to do the sort of job i am looking for.Hopefully you can understand what i mean.Thanks in advance for any info you can supply.

You can select a pre-entered way point in Memory Map and the unit will inform you of the direction to head towards this as well as the remaining distance, it is line of sight and not road distance, also the package does not offer verbal guidance - its a moving map with your current location displayed and any way points entered appear on the map.
It should do what you want though as it supports a number of different options for entering data Lat/ Long or OS Grid etc - Mike
