Just upgraded to WM2003 after a fashion. On the verge of buying a BT GPS unit and thought I would suss out the BT platform for the 5450.
I found this on the HP site:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/19668.html
How does one tell if this is required or not? It is dated Nov. 03, I got my WM2003 disc early Dec., the version loaded is 1.4.1 (probably), the website claims to be 1.4.1.58 |

The easiest way is to initiate a bonding connection with a Bluetooth device, whilst you have the BT Manager screen open, power off the Pocket PC and see if it will power up. If it doesn't and requires a soft reset, then you need the patch. |

The version of the Bluetooth stack installed can be found using the About tab in Bluetooth Settings.
The original stack is Version 1.4.1 Build 06 on my iPAQ 3970. I can't tell you what version it is with the upgrade applied, as the upgrade hasn't been issued for the 3970 (I hope this isn't a sign of things to come and that HP will drop support for the 3900 series). I suspect it may be 1.4.1 Build 58 - but maybe someone could confirm that.

Interestingly I just checked my 2210 out and realised that although I had originally installed the upgrade I had done a hard reset and it had gone.
It reports my BT version as 1.4.1 Build 04 from WM2003 hardreset. However when I go to advanced it then reports the BTChooser.dll as version 1.4.1.04.
I then installed the BT driver upgrade and it now reports as being 1.4.1 build 58 and the BTchooser dll is 1.4.1.58.
Thanks David, I would have forgotten otherwise. _________________ Mike Barrett |
