GNAV10 help

hi everyone just bought a gnav 10 for my husband and it has done my head in when i turn it on and click on navigate it tells me that my map of uk is gamaged and to install it very new at this been trying to sort it out for 2 days now dont know how to took it down to pc world and it worked ok for the guy and also took in to a car store and it worked for them it just dont work for me also cant connect to the sats am i doing something wrong could some one help me in english as dont get the manual its crap dont tell you a lot done so many soft and hard restarts in 2 days its realy buging me now please please help me someone
