One question though...
As a Firefox user I really like to avoid using IE as much as possible. Do I need to log into PocketGPSWorld.com every time using IE or will a one off and save password do it?
Also as a feature request, could you include a checkbox (and related download code) to get the POIs from Mafts Site? | Sorry Ash, another idea.
I don't have my i3 at the moment (back to Garmin for repairs) so your app is reminding me to synchronise and I am unable to. Could you add in a Do not remind for x hours or days or not again today option? _________________ Garmin i3

Good point ;)
In the meantime you can run Poi Loader, and then just Cancel it straightaway. Then CM will think that you're up-to-date and stop nagging you! :D |

In IE try going to: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php
Then press Ctrl-F5 to do a proper refresh.
Quit and reload Camera Manager, and see if that helps... |

I get the same problem, the App does not reload. I have checked and there is nothing in Startup or under the Run Keys in the Registry.
Another idea...
Some people turn Balloon alerts off so will not know that they have new updates could you change the colour of the Icon depending on the status i.e. Yellow for normal, Green for downloading, Red for Needs to be synced? _________________ Garmin i3

Worked for me, with the same problem, stating not logged in despite being so.
Stopped program, and restarted OK.
Nice program.

Known issues so far:
1. Auto-load on computer restart doesn't always work
2. Weird tab order between edit boxes in Settings window
Thanks for your help finding these - anything else to add? |

Hi Ash
This looks really good.
Is it possible to have an option to use distance rather than time? A Gatso on the M42 or M25 is passed (with luck) a lot quicker than a Gatso in a 30mph zone.
Is there an opportunity to set the first "bong" for (e.g) 3,000 feet with the second one on time in seconds as per the current program?
Thanks |

The whole point of timed warnings is that the alert distance increases with speed...
3000ft may be a sensible warning for a motorway Gatso at 70mph (about 34 seconds), but for an urban camera at 30mph at would be a bit tedious (nearly 80 seconds!).
Using a timing warning gives a uniform, consistent and predictable behaviour regardless of road speed 8) |

this looks great Ash, keep up the good work!
Just a thought for future releases, could it sync with Mafts site so it told you when there are new POI's |

OK. Back to the problems i was having before and there definitely IS a bug. New database released 22 July. Camera Manager spots it and downloads it and the does nothing. Open and re-open CM several times. Nothing.
Until i change the value of one of the timings then and only then when hitting OK does it generate new GPX files. This means that upon the release of a new database you have to open CM , adjust one timing to a value you don't want, click OK, then it'll generate new GPX files with the wrong timings, then you have to delete the GPX files, open CM again, correct the incorrect value, click OK and then you get new GPX files with the correct setting.
In other words CM only produces new GPX files IF you have changed one of the values. If you use the same values each month CM will download the new database but not generate the new GPX files until after you have changed the values to ones you don't want and then again with the ones you want.
This is what i was getting at before. |

Just spotted this in Ash10's first post on this thread.
Quote: | Clicking the OK button will close the Settings window, save the current settings, and if any changes have been made - re-tweak the files and prompt you to update your Garmin unit once again. |
This means if you have simply downloaded the new database and want to use the same values as last month then it won't generate new GPX files unless you go through the routine outlined above.....
Still impressed by Ash10's work though.... 8) |
