Anybody who has managed to download the most recent map, I'd be very grateful of they could email it to me. Please pm me and I'll give you my address. |
I've pm'd you.

Roger,
Don't know what's going on with the pm's - I haven't got yours and you obviously didn't get mine..
Don't like doing this (maybe I can get a moderator to remove it later), but here's my email (please remove *'s and substitute "at"):
pocketgpsworld****at*****corriechoille**.**co.**uk
Thank,
Justin |

Justin
The pm's are not working.
This will probably be locked by the moderators but the file is normally available for free download to anyone so here goes:
Part 1:
Part 2:
Download both and then unzip with WinRAR.
Roger
Please do not link to dubious/ illegal sofware/ map downloads in the forum thankyou - MikeAlder |

If you don't like it simply edit this line in the prefs.ini file:
NoticeForUpdate = 1
Change to:
NoticeForUpdate = 0
You can also make the same change to the defaults.ini file then if you restore the default settings you will still have the modification.
Regards
Roger |
Roger,
where is the prefs.ini file located?
Thanks,
Justin |

Should be in the 'NAVIGON\MobileNavigator' Folder.

Not from Navigon - They don't even seem to have enough time to keep their own site in order and don't reply to emails. As Roger said - the updated map files *should* be freely available for all to download if their upload link was working, although I understand you removing the download links if that's forum regs. Unfortunately the pm's weren't working. The map files are worthless without the activation code purchased from navigon or software that is already activated (which is what I have). As for modifying the prefs file, I can't see a problem with modifying a file that is installed on you own machine, for your own use..
mikealder, could you remove my email address from earlier post to avoid spamming? Thanks |

Just add the line to the same [MobNav] section.

I have finally downloaded map and it works fine. Only thing is no noticable difference. I know quite a few new streets and roundabouts in my area but no changes at all. What a waste of effort. |

They have added road speed limit data to bring it into line with the continental europe maps, as far as I am aware that is the only change.
