Hi
I cannot believe that by default Outlook reminders are enabled when using TT Nav2!! On a couple of occasions I've been at a particularly difficult part of a journey, when suddenly I get a reminder which takes out the entire screen! The buttons are of course at normal Windows Mobile scale (ie a lot smaller than Navigator buttons) and it's very difficult, not to mention dangerous, to dismiss the reminder.
Does anyone know if there's a way of overriding this? I'm sure one of these days I'm going to come crashing off a flyover somewhere because Outlook is desperate to tell me my Aunt Nancy's birthday is coming up.....
Cheers

I'm not aware of a way to disable these, it can be distracting for a reminder to appear but you have to remember that this is first and foremost a PDA so this functionality will always take preference over a 3rd party application
Having said that, some may prefer to continue to receive reminders, after all they must have some importance for you to have set them in the first place! The only thing I can suggest is to disable the reminders for any events that may trigger during a journey before you set off, not ideal I know. _________________ Darren Griffin |

If it was a Palm, I'd feel the same. The thing is, who's to say what the primary function of a Pocket PC should be? For me it's only a PDA up until I activate TT Nav2. From that moment, as far as I'm concerned, it should stop being a PDA and start being a navigation system!
I'm sure it's technically possible to surpress the reminders. In fact, I use an mp3 program (PocketMusic) that does just this! What would make sense would be to have an option to have the reminder automatically hide itself after a certain timeout (say 5 seconds)
Ho hum. One for the wish list then..... |
