hi all:
my acer has starterd to be slow in fixing on satellites recently. it takes a longtime to take fix.... it may be several minutes sometimes about 8-10 mins. it is not getting a fix while in the car. i have to poke it out of the car or stand outside in cold to get a fix. however once it gets a fix it does fine with tt5.
so if start on a journey it takes several minutes to get going.
now this is a recent prob only. previously i could get a fix while indoors as well. not 5 sats but one or two!
to make matters worse my present place windows are very high. so i got to go outdoors to get fix or poke it out of car window.
this is a real pain, i am thinking whether anything could be done about it.
any ideas welcome! |

I had an Acer N35 with TomTom 5 on and had trouble getting a fix when you get it back make sure you set the Baud Rate to 9600 when setting the GPS settings. Also you might want to consider getting an External Antenna (under £15 on ebay) As I found that it wasn't great at keeping a satelite fix. After I got an external antenna it kept a full satelite fix for 99% of the time. And got a satelite fix alot quicker. Well worth buying one |
