Bluetooth battery life and car connection question.........

I read some posts in this forum that seem to indicate that BT recievers have a limited battery charge cycle lifetime. Does this mean that when the battery will no longer take a charge the BT receiever will not work, even if it is connected to the 12V car supply??
Could you connect the BT unit to a constant 12V supply therefor never using the BT battery ( i dont intend to ever take the BT reciever out of the car) or would constant connection drain the car's battery over time.

The battery life cycle on most are around 400 charges. This is the same as a mobile phone, after which time battery performance will be impacted, e.g. you won't get 6 hours out of the batter, perhaps 3 or 2 hours, depending on battery condition. You will still be able to plug it in to the mains/accessory socket.
