Well I tried it last night at work and it doesn`t seem to be right. I am not getting the warnings irrespective of speed.

The reason I want the warning for all speed camera locations, is I drive a truck and you may or may not know that the speed limit on single carriageways is 40 mph. A lot of camera`s are now setup to catch trucks, that's why you may get stuck in a que behind a truck doing 40 mph. I try not to speed, but have you ever tried sticking to 40.

I have a Garmin 276c as well and it has the Pocket GPS World camera map overlay on it. I have been using the 276c and the i3 side by side for comparisons and I have noticed that many of the cameras on the 276c which mark genuine camera sites, don`t show/work for me on the i3!!! I wonder why this is, I would of thought they both would use the same info on camera locations? Confused Sad

I appreciate what Ash and others are doing, but unfortunately I can`t seem to get my i3 to give camera warning irrespective of what speed I am doing. Hopefully I will get it sorted.

Tried this and it works a treat, thanks Ash.
I now get the icon warnings at any speed.

I didn't have any problems, but to those who are - firstly make sure you use 'Express' and 'Feet/Mph' on the POI loader. Secondly give it enough time to load - the gpx files are a lot larger and take a while to load - minutes instead of seconds.

Just out of interest I get 10 files in the POI loader directory, 5 gpx and 5 bmp. The gpx files range from 72KB to 3MB.

Ash,
I got myself a bit confused when I was going to delete the old one because the version number is the same as the old version I had.

Thanks for a very useful application.
Nick.

Tried this now 4 times but when I drag and drop the zipfile into the Updater I just gat a series of errors - any chance of a single comprehensive step-by-step post?

Don't wish to be a pain but can't see where I'm going wrong.

It sounds like you've got the wrong database - the zipfile that you want is called "Garmin_UK_-_POILoader.zip" (ie: not the speed-zoned version)

Okay - I obviously got that wrong!
Drag & drop of the new zipfile went okay but when I used the uploader it just says no .csv files in the directory Sad

Further to previous e mails the POI loader states that there are no csv files when trying to load the camera database

That sounds like you're not running the latest version of POI Loader - in which case you'll need to upgrade.

Sorry it's obviously irritating to have the same questions asked over again, that's why I suggested a single step-by-step post.

However it doesn't work for me so I'll leave it.

Works here.

1) Make sure your upload directory has all the right files and icons and they are in matched pairs - i.e. Petrol Stations.csv and Petrol Stations.bmp both exist and have identical names

2) Remove all Speed Camera databases and icons.

3) Load all the POIs (without the Speed Cameras) to your i3 to make sure it working OK. Check they exist on the i3. This will also make sure the Camera Updater can pick up the correct directory.

4) Re-run the Camera Updater software with a freshly downloaded database.

5) Check the Speed Cameras have been added to the POI directory.

6) Run Camera Updater. Check the second paragraph. It'll state which directory it's going to drop the new files into. Check it's correct. Reload all the POIs again to the i3. Check

Make sure you are running POI Loader 2.2.1 - OPen POI Loader and right click the top left icon, select About.

If not get it from http://www.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00434-00
