Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me?
I am a regular creator of POI overlays and use WinOV2 to convert my files. Everything has been working fine up until today when I went to convert a new ASC file into an OV2 file.
The conversion seemed to go through OK until I went to check the new OV2 file and for some reason it had come out as a file type unrecognised by Windows.
As far as I know, I have not done anything drastically different to my PC since the last time I successfully created a POI, so am unsure as to why this might have happened.
Then, when confronted by Windows with a list of possible programs with which to open the file, WinOV2 was not in the list so I tried to manually select it from my computer.
However this did not work and for some reason Windows refused to recognise the program and add it to the list. I have since tried deleting the WinOV2 program that I had and installing it again from the Pocket GPS website but I am still having the same problem. :-(
Can anyone please suggest why this might have suddenly happened and also how to rectify the problem?

Hi Bo Peep,
Can you give us the full name of the file (including its extension) you were trying to convert an the full name of the file that you got afterwards?

Hi Privateer,
The file I was trying to convert was UCI_Cinemas and the file I got after the conversion took place was also called UCI_Cinemas.
The file extensions were .asc and .ov2 but were not included in the general file name.
