Ive just upgraded my sd card in my gnav 10 all i done was took the small one out of the unit connected to the pc inserted new card powered on unit and pc then loaded maps to new larger card through des consol works fine and i now have my uk and euro maps on one card.
i have tried 3 brand new SD cards, all formatted thru my card reader as FAT, same as card that came with gnav10, and every time gnav10 says "card removed, closing down". i therefore suspect that the format is wrong, but how on earth do i get beyond it? the supplier says it should accept new cards, and no more help.

I'm an Acer user, not gnav10, but I'm puzzled why you're formatting SD cards. Have you tried a card without formatting it first?
These cards come pre-formatted and have a limited number of writes (OK it's thousands but it is limited). if you keep formatting you're shortening the life of the card. As you may have found, formatting an SD (or CF etc) card can be risky.
all 3 new cards would not work at first, so supplier said to format them, and see if that worked. it doesnt make any difference at all, so im at a loss with it
