Think i've got something amiss here!!!!

Takes an absolute age to transfer map region 5 to the pda 512mb card.

tried drag and drop, but then card reports no map / chart found. tried it through a card reader, so i get the same no chart/ map found??

sounds like a directory type problem, or is it?

cheers

Are you using a card reader? if not then I would seriously recomend one for the transfer of large files, active sync is both unreliable and painfully slow doing this. Also check the size of the file you are exporting to the PDA, MM should warn you of the file size, I always select export visable area to be sure I have adequate space on the card before transferring files. If this is region 5 for MM vs5 then the file size will be over 512MB, I have region 4 and this is 668MB total size - hope this might give a few pointers in the correct direction (no pun intended) - Mike

You may really want to consider sending smaller map sections to the PDA. It is a real drain on the PPC to have to open a file of that size. If you have V5 (which it looks like you do), you can make a route around a section of the map and send it to the PDA (vice the old methods of whole map or visible portion only). I would break the map up into two or three sections to make things easier.
