Cannot get the gps to work with TT5 on HP 1940. I can get it to work with TT3, GPS viewer can see it on COM 5 but TT5 cannot see it. I think I have tried every solution in the forum, but I just cant get it to work. My wife will kill me as its her xmas pressie and it dont work, seems to be more trouble than its worth.
I myself run a normal mouse on 3950 with no problems at all. I hate B Tooth
Anyone any more ideas.

If tt3 can see it but vs5 can't I would guess the gps unit is in SiRF mode, it need to be NMEA, use the gps program from tt3 (the driver that is) to switch it back to NMEA mode, if you have tt3 loaded this will be easy, if not download the tt3 GPS driver from this sites downloads section and use that (Vs 2,06) - Mike

This link should provide the answer, but as you have TT3 on a PDA use that to do the same thing - the GPS programe will be in programs labeled as GPS and looks like a satalite dish - read the link as it should sort your problem, if not pls get back to me - Mike

Thanx for the link, I can quite easily follow the instructions but, when I copy the unzipped download to storage card there is no way I can get it to execute (install) Im obviously missing something (probably my brain).
How do I get the driver to install?

You will need to un-zip the file first as per:
Firstly un-zip the downloaded file and extract to your SD card (in a reader if no reader use windows exlorer and Active Sync to copy/ Paste the file). Once done re-insert the SD card into the PDA use file exlorer on the PDA to locate the file and tap it.
This will install the GPS program.
Connect the GPS / Bluetooth and Go to programs then select the new GPS program that will be there, use this program to select / configure the GPS - Mike

Mike, I have tried that, thats whats shown on the link you gave me, I copy and paste the unzipped file to my storage card but none of the files execute they need some program associated with them. This is whats bugging me. The instructions are clear, but my files do not work. I cant seem to get past this point.
Thanks again.

You need to un-zip the download before copying accross to the PDA, when you download ttgps206_arm it has a file size of 155KB, the un-compressed version is 515KB it is this larger file you load onto your PDA - It will be called ttgps206_arm.CAB (it is a single file, dont try to un-zip it any further as that will create five other files that are useless rubish as far as the PDA is concerned) open the downloaded file using win zip or winRar then use the extract to function to create what you need - Mike
