Hi,
Going to the Ipaqnavigation site, and clicking on the upgrade for v1.2 users it takes you to an upgrade page to iNS v3??
What does iNS v3 offer over iNS v2, and what version of Co-Pilot will this be - possibly v4?
I am currently using iNS v1.2 (Co-Pilot v3.1.5) is it worth me paying £150 + VAT to upgrade to iNS v3?
Thanks in advance.

Matt,
iNS version 3 is based on copilot version 4. It is supposed to offer updated maps to version 3.5, updated and easier to read interface, and LiveWire traffic information from AA roadwatch through your mobile phone (subscription service). It is also supposed to allow 2 way messaging between a desktop PC and the nav unit. Whether it is worth £150, I don't know. If you bought your iNS within 30 days of the new release you can get a free upgrade (details are on the ipaqnavigation upgrade web page). _________________ Dave Atkins |

What is the difference between iNS v3 and Co-pilot Live 4.0? They both seem to be about the same price of £150 + VAT (iNS upgrade / Co-pilot full software price). Is there any advantage in buying one or the other, i.e. upgrades, etc. I have iNS v1.2 at the moment and I am wondering what to buy... |

iNS is basically a rebadged version of CoPilot and a third party support company (Team Warrior) provide support on iNS in the UK. Going with CoPilot from TravRoute means you're getting support direct from the company who produces the CoPilot software.
AFAIK there are no other differences. |

One difference:
The Team Warrior upgrade to iNS is £150 + VAT and the TravRoute upgrade to CoPilot is only £119 + VAT!
Why is this, when esentially they are the same upgrade? |

I have taken the iNS upgrade as it already has the traffic alerting sorted, and it seems to work well with the new version.
The traffic alerts have a new interface and is a little quicker/slicker. I don't get the hour glass appear when it is getting new alerts!
However, I will track what Travroute do about their traffic feature. I am surprised that they have released a product with a major feature like this disabled.
All the other features are as the forum for CP4. ie the advertised lane change warnings don't actually work and the text to speech feature now pronounces miles as meeles.
I really like the additional information available on screen and the POI database was worth the upgrade alone for me. Not only are there loads more hotels available, it also has a great petrol station database which, if you are like me and drive until the tank is empty, is a useful feature.

do you have to tell the teamwarrior traffic app about where you are going? or can it pick it up from the copilot system? i'm interested in this before I shell out for a BT enabled ipaq... |

I have upgraded my iNS v1.2 to CoPilot Live Pocket PC 4 as TravRoute kindly offered it to me at the upgrade price of £119.99 plus P&P resevered for their registered users of CoPliot 3.5. I didn't want the Team Warrior traffic stuff that is bundled with iNS 3.0 or the extra cost!
