Nah. Just get yourself one of those caver's headlamps and fit an extension boom on the front to fix the i3 to. Well cool.

Saw the price for Argos on here this morning and have just been out to buy one. Stuck it in and told it to take me home, got about a mile down the road and it locked up. Have come home and updated it to 2.5 which I hear is a lot better so I'll go give it another test later today. As long as it doesn't crash it seems brilliant. I've used a Tom Tom before so this was a bit different but for £180 it's a bargain!

After having taken my i3 back to PCW last week for it locking up, and the doubt over the updated mapping, system I couldnt resist the price from Argos so went down and got another one. Also feelling happy again after reading that we will get a mapping update (hopefully) when it becomes available. Strange that I got a cd with this one (only usb v4 drivers). Now on with doing the poi`s.

Got mine last night, done two runs and no problems as yet.
Will upgrade to the 2.5 tonight as well as the poi that everyone mentions.

the info from this site was that 'early adopters' might get an update. you've just bought a new one so may not be classed as an early adopter now... ;)

The information that Garmin passed to me indicated that all i3 owners would get the upgrade to the maps, not just the early adopters.

I believe that version 2.4 tends to freeze up on occasions whilst v2.5 is more stable. V2.5 tends also to be more stable than v2.6 but if you are using it in the UK then there appears to be no need to update to the latter.
Thanks MikeB, thats what I thought about the mapping upgrade. It would get even more confusing upgrading i3 owners who had purchased before a certain date and not those after it. [/quote]

Does anybody know when the update are going to be available?

There is a major traffic light junction half a mile from me which is not recognized as traffic light controlled such, even tho it has been there for many years... i3 simply instructs to keep left instead of turn left.

Yet going the opposite direction the i3 recognizes a new traffic light junction with the appropiate 'right or left turn' voice prompts.
