i have downloaded and installed the update but have not had time to test it yet. What i did notice is a paragraph in the PDF sheet that came with the download mentioning new map data for the UK which is available via a download from the web site as a freeby. However there is nothing on the website to back this up.
Had my fingers crossed that TMC for the UK may have been implemented with this download but maybe next time( fingers crossed)

Hi there,
if you logon to "MyNavigon" (where you registered your copy online) you should see a link to download the new British Isles map data. I just logged in and saw the link, it's at the bottom of the right hand column on the main page after you have logged in.
Will download it tonight and test it tomorrow on my way to work.

linknet,
Uninstalled everything navigation related.
Re-installed to SD card, applied patch, registered. Same problem.
Uninstalled everything navigation related.
Re-installed to Ipaq file store, applied patch, registered. Now it works.
Don't know why, and don't really care.
Now to do a bit of road-testing, particularly the missing audio files they claim to have fixed!!
Thanks,
Alistairm1 |

Road test a bit of a failure.
It still seems slow, and I keep losing the signal.
I think that I will have to get a new activation code and see if that fixes it.
Tomtom is looking more appealing by the minute! |

I have tried the v5.1 update with the new map download and basically the program starts quicker but the navigation map is still slow to update, may even be worse, money down the drain, have reverted back to using v4.2 and TomTom 3.
As some of you have said, start saving the pennies, hello TT 5. |

Already bought a GO700 and I'm not looking Back :D
I still can't understand what Navigon were playing at when they released this - I can only think they wanted to beat TomTom for increased sales etc.
Anyway - won't be buying another Navigon product after this show.
Shame really it had lots of potential _________________ Thanks,

That should be OK as it is just what I did & I have no prob's openning the map.
Have you taken the old map off the card ?
Is the product activated ?
All I did was take new map like you did & took the old one off & put the new one on the card.
All works fine |

My navigon is a registered version and is licensed for europe. |

If it is registered then you should not have any problems.
I downloaded it to my PC first then transfered it onto my SD card using my card reader & N5 did not ask for a activation code it just work as before.
Can't see why that should make ant difference but try that first. |

I've updated the map with no problems.
Does anyone know if this map is an update or a fix?

Have now downloaded and installed the 5.1 patch.
Software still works fine for me and no problems tying map position to actual road position. |

I've now noticed on the motorway she says "Beware!" everytime I go over the speed limit and a 70 sign appears in the top left. I don't know whether its MN5 or POI-Warner.
