|
|
Hi!
As the subject says i got a Ipaq rz1710 with a Kirrio GPS Cradle (model 6125)
I am trying to get TomTom Navigator 5 to make use of the GPS inside the Cradle.
When i'm using the bundeled ViaMichelin software it works just fine.
The connection is using the port "Navibox" (and there is a navibox software installed in the Ipaq, some sort of software port?)
I'v tried to use all the options in TomTom to get the GPS connection up and running with no luck.
Does anyone got a clue what i should do to make this work? |

Hi mate,
Well done on your efforts!
I had the same problem, and I thought I'd tried everything.
It now works.
Did you manage to get the cradle speaker working?
I've tried leaving the programs Navibox & NVB power installed but still it doesnt work,no blue light either!
The GPS works fine though. |

I've tried absolutely everything to make the loudspeaker work, all with no avail.
I've tried copying the navibox & NVB power programs into the Tomtom start menu, then into the map files, allsorts really, but nothing has worked.
I can only assume that theres some sort of decoder hidden within the software, that makes the cradle work, because as mentioned I have had the blue light on by loading viamichelin first and then closing it down & then running Tomtom....Blue light still on, but nothing from the speaker.
Another sneaky example of companies making sure you use only their software with their equipment me thinks, & as Viamichelin now own Kirrio as I'm led to believe, that pretty much sums it up!
Theres no valid reason for the cradle not to work otherwise, its only a speaker for gods sake!!
I did think about wiring the PDA to my car stereo via the earphone socket, It would be easy to do, but at the end of the day I dont want the extra wires & stuff- Which is why I bought this set up in the first place!
Its a shame, as its a pretty cool looking cradle in my opinion!
But, I've given up & put the cradle & software on ebay ( No great loss as far as the software is concerned!!)
I'm fed up of arsing about sitting in my car every work lunchtime.
And I'm now gonna purchase one of these instead, & hopefully what I get for the Kirrio cradle & software should cover it.
