Thanks for the info. One thing puzzles me, I have several times used the "send an email" facility from the "my tomtom" section of the tomtom website, but have only ever (after several days) received an automated response that never answers my question.
Do you have a real email address for tomtom (i.e. someone@tomtom.com) so I can send them a proper email, as it appears that the website email facility does not function correctly.
I placed my order on 20th June, and on Sunday my status changed to "Captured - Warehouse", but I wonder what is happening now...

I've been only using the web email facility and I have got replies all 3 times. I think I've been lucky.....
Weird how a load went to capture either Saturday or Sunday....
Payment's gone onto my credit card this afternoon, so I will be losing patience with them again very shortly if I don't see something soon.... |

I had exactly the same message from tomtom.
I have mailed them back suggesting that they make their status a little more easy to understand, as it says in their product support pages that once your order is "captured" it has been dispatched.
an email from their product support personnel, says this is not the case...

My latest email from TomTom may shed some light on their shipping process...
Dear Ms Evans,
Thanks for yor E-mail.
There is no need to chase your order (it's not lost) because the order waiting for the next shipment to UK.
When everything is set up you will receive the tracking number on your TomTom site.

Following my last email to tomtom, they have changed the description of the "captured" status on thier website to the following (please note that this is a direct cut and paste from their website).
Captured: The payment has been received and product has been shipped. and the product will be shipped. Please note that it can take up to 5 weeks delivery time after we have received your payment
Not much more help, I think you will agree, as the above definition contradicts itself.
Anyway I will have to wait and see. I ordered mine (smartphone edition) on June 20th. What is the latest order date that has been recieved in the UK (i.e. when were the latest deiliveries ordered)? This will hopefully give me (and the rest of the group) some indication as to when ours will arrive.

So it's upto 5 weeks for them to take payment,
And,
Upto 5 weeks for them to ship the order?
Thats a maximum 10 week wait then?!?

They've taken payment from me yesterday (2 weeks 5 days after I ordered),
And so I would still have a possible 5 week wait,
That makes it the 17th August would be the last date,
I have never come accross an internet company with such a slow service,

Clearly a bit of the site they haven't updated yet..

An update...
Phoned the 0845 number this morning after my latest chase yesterday by email hadn't gotten anywhere.
12 minutes later someone very helpful tells me the expected shipping date should be 22/23rd July.
So perhaps it might turn up next week.
Now why couldn't they have said that in one of the emails I received....
*sigh*
Might give some insight for any of the others waiting for the S60 version.... Or has everyone else got theirs by now |

Called tomtom today, and was informed that the unit (smartphone edition) that I ordered on 20th June will be shipped on 23rd - 24th of July.
Thought that this information might be of some use.

Maybe they do work on Sundays, as my payment was processed on a Sunday.
Most companies do not fully automate the payment process, even in todays modern world.
I do not think that they will pay for UPS to collect the parcels on a Sunday though
