I will only use TTN5 with the new v5 maps - not a problem. |

Let's assume for a second that it would be possible to use TomTom 3 with the new v5 maps - which program would you rather use - TTN3 or TTN5?
(This is a rhetorical question based on the assumptions that 1) it is actually possible to run TTN3 with v5 maps (so far it is not), and 2) that you own fully independent copies of both map versions) _________________ Lutz

Interesting results so far !
I would give my left testicle to be able to use TT5 maps with TT3. _________________ Garmin Edge 800 (cycling)

I think by writing the software in a way they have, but making it work on all their products they have made a jack of all trades and master of none product. Hopefully they will iron out the problems _________________ HP iPAQ 2210 (Rom V1.10)

Err, someone is very confident then that this is not going to happen or is already a Eunuch. _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

I've just had the opportunity to try Navigon 5 with it's latest Navteq maps.
Whilst I wouldn't actually recommend the software the maps are a revelation.
Excuse the pun, but they are literally streets ahead of the latest TeleAtlas/TomTom5 maps.
I have checked a great number of comparison points and in all cases the Navteq maps are significantly more up to date.
So my choice would be TTN5 with Navteq maps. Or is that not allowed?

it's allowed - to dream about this. TomTom have signed an agreement with Navteq, but haven't yet produced maps based on Navteq data. They also continue to use TeleAtlas - makes sense because there are areas where the TeleAtlas data is better. Ideally the end user should be able to decide which map set to use... _________________ Lutz
